What would make your working day easier?

The enquiry you keep meaning to follow up. The hours that still need invoicing. The information your team keeps asking you for.

I’m Shaun. From Rotherham, I build custom apps, CRMs and business systems for small businesses and charities, shaped around the work you need to get done, so you and the people you help can have an easier time of it.

Together Events

Everything for the day, in your pocket

Attendees need to know what’s next, where to go and where to find the resources. I built an event companion that puts the programme, session information and practical details within reach on a phone, with the sessions stacked into a readable programme.

Room to browse on bigger screens

On a tablet or desktop the layout uses the extra room, keeping the programme in view while a session opens alongside it, and there’s a separate view for venue displays. Organisers prepare and review the event information together before it reaches the app.

Off the shelf,
or built for you?

Plenty of software does a good job. If yours does, I’ll tell you to keep it. Building something starts to make sense when you’re paying for features you never touch, bending the way you work to suit the tool, or keeping a spreadsheet on the side because the system can’t do the one thing you need.

If I build it, you own it. That doesn’t make it free to run... there’s still hosting, and someone needs to look after it. I’ll set those costs next to what you pay now, so you’re comparing like with like.

Start with the bit
that’s driving you round the bend.

You don’t need an app specification. Show me what happens now, including the bit where you copy it all into another spreadsheet.

Talk me through it.

Who needs the information, and what happens next? I’ll help work out what would be useful, then agree the scope and price. If a feature you already pay for does the job, I’ll say so.

Try it as I build.

You’ll work through real tasks as it takes shape. There’s usually an “actually, what happens when...” along the way. Better to find that while I can do something about it.

Get ready to use it.

I’ll show you how to use it and look after it. You’ll know what you own, how to get your data out and what the running costs will be. If you’d like ongoing help, I can arrange that too.

A few things you might be wondering.

Do I have to replace what I already use?

No. If part of what you use now works well, it can often stay, and I’ll connect to it instead. Plan B’s app works alongside its existing Notion records, for example. I’ll only suggest moving something when there’s a good reason to.

Who owns it, and what if something happens to you?

Fair question to ask a one-person business! What I build for you is yours. I’ll set it up, and we can agree whether I host it for you. If you’d rather take it somewhere else to be hosted or developed further, that’s absolutely fine. You’re never stuck with me just because you have to be.

What does ongoing support include?

It depends on what I’ve built for you. Support for a website looks very different from support for a team system, so we’ll agree what it covers at the start of the project, alongside the price.

Can different people see different things?

Yes. Access is part of the design. I’ll ask who needs to read, change or manage each part, then agree and test those permissions as I build.

What will it cost, and how long will it take?

That depends on the work involved, including any existing data and connections to other tools. I’ll agree the scope, price and likely timeline with you before the build starts.

What are you working around?

A spreadsheet, a clunky process or an idea you keep coming back to... tell me what happens now and what you’d like to be easier.
